How is this different from hiring a management consultancy?

Do you take equity instead of fees?
No — we operate on fixed fees or retainers. Equity arrangements add governance complexity that gets in the way of being honest advisors. The exception is occasional pitch-deck support for early-stage founders where the engagement is small enough to fit a regular fee.
